Join us for a shiur by Dr. Stu Halpern titled, “A Ruth by Any Other Name: The Function of Names in Megillat Ruth”. Dr. Stu Halpern is the Transition Chief of Staff for YU's President-Elect Rabbi Dr. Ari Berman. Dr. Halpern received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MA in Psychology in Education from Teachers College at Columbia University, an MA in Bible from Revel, an MBA in Nonprofit Management from Touro University, and his EdD from the Azrieli Graduate School of Education and Administration. He has served in various capacities in YU's Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought, Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, and YU Press, and is the editor or co-editor of 13 books, most recently Books of the People: Revisiting Classic Works of Jewish Thought. He has taught in Yeshiva University as well as in synagogues, Hillels, and adult Jewish educational settings across the US.
