Identifying and Responding to Child Abuse

Dr. Victor Vieth, Director of the National Child Protection Training Center, recently gave a presentation on how to identify, prevent, and respond to child abuse.  His presentation slides are available for review.

To determine the appropriate agency to call for filing a report of suspected or known child abuse, search the Child Welfare Information Gateway. If there is insufficient information to form a reasonable suspicion, but you are still concerned, the ChildHelp USA National Child Abuse Hotline (800-422-4453) provides guidance to anonymous callers who are                                                 considering filing a report.
