Motzei Shabbat, November 17th, 8:00 PM
Dr. Batsheva Lerner Maslow will return to Mount Sinai to co-present with our Yoetzet Halacha, Dena Block, on Fertility Preservation. This event will focus on egg-freezing and will be open to the entire community.
Dr. Bat-Sheva Lerner Maslow lectures and writes on topics where halacha and Jewish thought overlap with reproduction and science. Her expertise is the intersection of modern reproductive medicine and the development of Halacha. Dr. Maslow currently practices as a Reproductive Endocrinologist at Extend Fertility, the country’s first medical practice exclusively for women choosing to proactively freeze their eggs, and directs the research program at the Center for Fertility Research and Education. She also serves as the Director of Medical Curriculum at the Miriam Glaubach Center’s North American Yoatzot Halacha Program. In addition to her medical and teaching duties, Dr. Maslow is often called upon as an advisor for questions related to hilchot niddah. She was recently recognized by the New York Jewish Week as one of their “36 under 36.”
Dr. Maslow graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College with a BA in History before attending the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. There she received an MD with distinction and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Maslow completed residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Pennsylvania and sub-specialty training in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility at the University of Connecticut, where she also received a Master’s in Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. Maslow has presented research on fertility preservation, age-related infertility, genetics, and other issues in fertility and women’s health at national medical conferences and her works have been published in leading medical journals. Dr. Maslow lives in Riverdale with her husband, Jonathan, and their four daughters, Aderet, Tehila, Yakira, and Orlee.
