Mini Sinai Childcare Center - Preschool

About our Preschool:

Our preschool program is designed for children ages 2 to 4 years old. At Mini Sinai, we take pride in providing a warm, loving, and nurturing Jewish environment where children receive daily care and engaging, enriching experiences.

We follow a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Through this model, your child will embark on an exciting journey of exploration and discovery where their thoughts and wonders add to our curriculum. Our program fosters development through a variety of activities that encourage social interaction, cognitive growth, and physical development. From sensory play and art projects to music and movement activities, as well as outdoor adventures, your child will have countless opportunities to learn, play, and grow in a safe and supportive setting.

Jewish Curriculum:

Daily Tefillah: We develop a deep connection to Hashem by participating in daily tefillah and learning how to be thankful for all that Hashem has created and given us each day.

Parsha & Holiday Curriculum: The book of Bereishit is a very exciting time to learn about the history of the Jewish people through the rich stories of the weekly parshiot. As each holiday embarks, we also learn about the upcoming holiday in an age appropriate way.

Shabbat: Every Friday, we immerse ourselves in our favorite holiday every week, Shabbat! Through challah baking and a Shabbat celebration, we prepare for this special day.

Hebrew Literacy & Language Development: Hebrew language and letter learning begins using visuals, songs, Hebrew letter exposure, and simple Hebrew words used daily. See below to learn about our weekly learning class.

Learning Themes and Centers:

Themes: While some themes are predetermined by the upcoming holidays and seasons they arrive in, some themes are inspired by the children's interests. When children express interest of learning, we take their ideas and build upon their inquisition.

Monthly Self Portraits: In line with our Reggio inspired philosophy, children are able to express themselves and how they see themselves through their self-portraits. They look into a mirror and self-evaluate how they perceive themselves.

Literacy & Language Development: Much of our learning of literacy takes place through the environment around us. Classrooms signs and labels teach children the names of objects through everyday exposure as well as games and activities. Our writing center incorporates letters and pre-writing skills.

Math & Science: Early mathematical concepts are explored through counting, sorting, and measuring are learned though hands-on activities. In science we look at the cause and effect nature of an experiment. As spring rolls around, we observe the cycle of a butterfly.

Art & Sensory: Exploring different forms of art is fantastic for children’s creative expression. In addition to the art and sensory activities done daily, introducing them to an artist of the month expands their understanding of artistic styles and encourages appreciation for different cultures and techniques.

Daily Movement:

Gross Motor: It is important that children have the opportunity during the day to have free play to allow their bodies to move in a bigger way. Whether it is walking to Bennett Park for a playground day, exploring our own quaint outdoor area, or going to the gym for rainy day play, we make sure to get in our daily exercise! Once a week, we also have yoga class to improve our balance and mindfulness.

Daily Specials:

Each afternoon, we will have daily specials ran by our morot and other staff members.

Monday: Music

Tuesday: Artist of the Month Study

Wednesday: Yoga

Thursday: Hebrew Language - A dedicated time to Hebrew language learning.
